For many of you that may or may not know me, I am Ian Krusinski, and I am 15 years old. I've been doing art for as long as I can remember. I knew that I wanted to consume my future with this beautiful form of expression. I've been working as an artist for...I would guess five strong years now. I take classes everyday in the Art Academy at the Shades Valley Technical Academies under Olsen Ross. I've been a member of Unity for 9 years and I am currently a member of Y.O.U. My favorite style of painting is most definitely surrealism. With surrealism you can challenge the minds of others to get into the artist's head and see why he/she has done the image in that way. But I am also very attracted to fauve and psychedelic art. These styles are great because it shows how vibrantly beautiful color can be portrayed and allows you to alter the reality of the norm. My mediums can vary vastly in material, but I mostly use paints, whether they are acrylic or watercolor. I also use charcoal, chalk pastels, highlighter/sharpie, pencil, graphite and ink. I do a lot of mixed media as well, which I think is a good technique for depth of field. I believe to be an artist one has to work with their hands, mind, heart and soul. Like Emile Zola once said, "The artist is nothing without the gift, but the gift is nothing without work." I am here to live out loud, and I hope that some of you hear me. --Ian Krusinski
